Tim Gorter Architects (TGA) is a full-service design firm that explores architecture’s potential to heighten our experience of place and bring about more thoughtful, ecologically sensitive ways of living. Led by Tim Gorter, an architect with a background in painting and ecological design, the studio takes a conceptual approach to each of its projects, working with clients to translate their vision and priorities into spaces that fully embrace them.

Alongside this, TGA researches and develops design concepts and novel construction approaches that reduce the environmental impact of building, explore new ideas in dense living, and envision more equitable and sustainable cities. TGA has expertise in delivering PassivHaus buildings that are energy-efficient with high-quality comfort.

Based in Santa Barbara, TGA is a locally minded studio, dedicated to design that engages the landscapes, ecological conditions, and architectural traditions of Southern California.
